Sundays in the Psalms
Learning - Loving - Living
The Book of Psalms were written by various people and are full of poetry and songs. Psalms represent a beautiful mix of prayer and praise. It seems as if every human emotion is expressed in the Psalter. Some psalms reflect deep despair, other communicate a deep peace in the Lord's power and provision, and others are filled with enthusiastic adoration of the Most High God.
They cover the range of human emotion and experience. What each of the psalms has in common is prayer. The psalms teach us to pray. As one writer states, “Meditation introduces us to the inner life; study transforms our mind, but discipline of prayer introduces the deepest, highest work of God.”
We will look at one Psalm each week and discover the amazing attributes of God which make Him worthy of our praise. Nothing is needed but a Bible, notebook, and pen. Feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.
I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do in and through our lives as we read, study, meditate, and pray together through God’s psalter.
I look forward to seeing there.
